President Buhari To Commission FHA Zuba Housing Project May 2

President Muhammadu Buhari will commission the multi billion federal housing authority FHA housing project located in Zuba, the heart of the nation.

 

An invitation letter sent out by the Head, Public Affairs of the authority, Mr Kenneth Chigelu stated that the commissioning will hold on Tuesday, 2nd May , 2023 at the premises of the estate at 10am.

 

The chief host of the occasion is the Minister of Works and Housing, Raji Babatunde Fashola, at the auspicious occasion.

 

The multi billion estate was inaugurated during the life of the present administration among many others across the country was completed and ready for commissioning by the current management under the leadership of Senator Gbenga B. Ashafa, Managing Director , Chief Executive, Federal Housing Authority FHA.

 

The new estate sitting on larger land mass and consisting of single, dual and multiple rooms was constructed in line with the cardinal objectives of the present administration towards providing affordable housing to Nigerians .

 

 

The FHA Housing Estate Zuba is one of the initiatives of management of Federal Housing Authority at seeking solution to the housing challenges in the country. The programme which was initiated in 2017 however came to fruition with the gracious approval of an initial grant of N5billion by President Muhammadu Buhari, which was released to the Authority in 2018.

 

The entire estate covers a total of 18.5 hectares of land and consists of 748 units of various house types in 75 blocks. The house types are:

One – Bedroom Flats (21 blocks)—————————- 336 units

Two – Bedroom Flats (33 blocks)—————————- 264 units

Three – Bedroom Flats (16 blocks)————————– 128 units

Three – Bedroom Terrace duplex (5 blocks)————– 20 units.

 

The Authority delivered this project at a total cost of N9.5 billion only, with a total of N7.5 billion coming as subvention from the Federal Government. The balance of N2billion construction cost came from the Authority’s other projects ploughed in to complete the project.

In conceiving this project, the Authority had safety, comfort and affordability in mind. Some of the features of the estate are:

 

Perimeter fence

2 Nos 5mva transformer Injection Power Sub – Station

3 Nos Independent Water Stations

2.7 kilometers of tarred and paved road network system with drainages.

Landscaped environment

The estate also has provision for places of worship, Shopping malls, Police
