PUSHING LECTURERS INTO A NEW STRIKE. By Owei Lakemfa.

As the Buhari administration erected obstacles to stop the quick resolution of the ASUU strike, I told myself it did not want students to return to campus earlier than June 2023 when it might have left office.

The eventual resolution might have thrown it into confusion. So, by refusing not only to pay the eight months salary backlog, but actually paying our academics half salary for the month of October, the Buharists are trying to push ASUU into a new strike.

Where is the National Assembly? Do we deserve this punishment? Where are the elites, organisations, clerics and those who appealed that ASUU resumed work?

Where are the Presidential Candidates promising a better Nigeria; can they not take a collective stand to tell truth to power and say to President Buhari, thus far no more?

Are we as a country and people powerless?
