A group called ‘New Lagos’ has appealed to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu to reappoint the immediate past Commissioner for finance Lagos state, Dr Rabiu Onaolapo Olowo to ensure continuity and policy direction.
According to the spokesman of the group , Mallam Yusuf Abubakar said the need for his reapportionment was based on his track records of achievements and purely on merit.
He said the former commissioner for finance in Lagos state had in the last four years moved the revenue profile of the state from the low ebb of 20B to close to 100B monthly, a feat that was unique in recent times.
The continuous elevation and growth of the Lagos IGR needed the good hands like Olowo Rabiu for consolidation and unequaled growth .
The Fitch rating of AA and stable bond and loans assessment by Lagos state government both locally and internationally, showed alot of potentials in the former commissioner hence needed to be reappointed.
He commended the Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu and his Deputy Governor, Dr Babafemi Hamzat for considering him at the first term, stating that the former commissioner was a jewel of Inesteemble value and a square peg in a square hole .
He therefore urged Lagosians to rally round and prevail on the Governor on the need to tap the potentials of Rabiu Olowo was made of to the fullest, stating that Lagos state will be better for it both in infrastructural, human capital and all round development.
