Senator Sani Musa commiserates with Galkogo, Zumba residents over Sunday Attacks …..Commends Security Operatives, Says Attackers Must not Go Scot-free

The Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District in Niger State, Mohammed Sani Musa has commiserated with the people of Galkogo and Zumba communities in Shiroro local government area of the state, following attacks by armed men in the two communities on Sunday.

Senator Musa condemned the dastardly act, described it as unfortunate, barbaric and sad.

He said at a time when the entire world is in dire need of prayers to overcome the pandemic of Coronavirus, some who are still in hell’s way is determined to take the peace of others.

“I received with shock the attacks on Galkogo and Zumba on Sunday. It is really unfortunate, barbaric and sad that at a time when the entire world is bedevilled with the Coronavirus pandemic, some people are still in hell’s way trying to destroy the peace being enjoyed by the citizens,” Senator Musa said.

He sympathized with the people in the communities, particularly the families of those who were shot and those whose loved ones were abducted by the bandits.

Senator Musa assured that he would continue to use his office to seek more security cover for people in his constituency and indeed Niger State as a whole while urging them to remain calm.

“I will not relent in my effort to see that the people of Niger East enjoy the dividends of democracy, particularly as it concerns security. I will continue to use my office, in collaboration with our amiable Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello and other stakeholders, including local government chairmen in the senatorial district to ensure that maximum security cover is given to all the people. So, I urge them to remain calm.”

The lawmaker commended the security operatives in the state, including the Nigerian Police, the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Air Force, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence and the local vigilante, calling on them not to lose courage but to redouble their efforts to root out the bad elements from the state.

He particularly urged them to deploy their forces to Galkogo and Zumba to ensure that the perpetrators of Sunday attacks in the two communities are apprehended and brought to justice.

“I wish to commend our security operatives who are working tirelessly to combat the menace of banditry in our dear state. I urge them not to relent in their quest to completely root out those bad elements from our communities. I, therefore, call on them to redouble their efforts and ensure that the perpetrators of the attacks on Galkogo and Zumba are apprehended and served justice as it is due to them. They must not go scot-free,” he said.

Senator Musa, however, enjoined his constituents to be security conscious and to also volunteer useful information that will help security agencies carry out their tasks in the area.
