The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has been named Spark News Daily’s Best Performing Governor for 2024, recognizing his impactful leadership and developmental strides.
Similarly, Deputy Senate President Barau I. Jibrin (Kano North), Senator Orji Uzor Kalu (Abia North), and Senator Rufai Sani Hanga (Kano Central) have been honoured as the Best Performing Senators for their outstanding contributions to governance and legislative excellence.
The awards were announced following Spark Media & Entertainment Ventures’ first quarterly consultative meeting, which involved its editorial board, staff, and associates. The organization, publisher of the widely-read Spark News Daily, identified these prominent Nigerians for their exceptional performances in public service.
In a statement released by Prevail Inegbenose, Editor-in-Chief of Spark News Daily, the selection was based on a thorough review of achievements in 2024, with Gov. Aiyedatiwa standing out for his leadership, infrastructural advancements, and policy-driven transformations in Ondo State.
“From December 27, 2023, when he assumed office, to his re-election and beyond, Gov. Aiyedatiwa has significantly improved infrastructure and human capital development, positioning Ondo as an emerging economic hub,” the statement noted.
The governor’s administration has prioritized road construction, education reforms, and agricultural investments, reinforcing his commitment to making Ondo an enviable state within the federation. His efforts in fostering a peaceful and business-friendly environment were also highlighted as key to the state’s progress.
The recognized senators—Barau, Kalu, and Hanga were commended for their legislative impact, constituency projects, and contributions to national development.
