The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen has congratulated the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Dr. Sikiru Kayode Adetona, for clocking 90 years.
Speaker Abbas, in his congratulatory message issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, described Oba Adetona as one of the most respected traditional rulers in the country whose reign has positively impacted not just Ijebuland but the entire country.
He also said the Ijebu traditional ruler remained one of the heroes of democracy in Nigeria, who should be celebrated.
The Speaker noted that Oba Adetona, as one of the longest-reigning traditional rulers in Nigeria, has garnered a wealth of experience about leadership, discipline, and patriotism that the people and the government will continue to tap from.
Speaker Abbas also hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for conferring the second highest national honour, Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), on the revered monarch, saying it was an honour well deserved.
The Speaker prayed to God to grant Oba Adetona longer life, sound health, and prosperity in his kingdom.
