Troops arrest terrorists’ kingpin while trying to buy guns ,other ammunition with N31m cash

Operatives of the Nigerian Military have arrested a notorious terrorist gunrunner identified as Ahmed Acharif with N31 million in cash.
This was disclosed on Tuesday, Februarry 13, 2024, by Phantom Eye, an intelligence and security source, with special interest on Lake Chad and North East Nigeria.
Phantom Eye in the post shared on X (formerly Twitter), revealed that the terrorist was arrested in Garin Dogo area of Niger Republic.
According to the statement, the cash was for the payment for arms and ammunition sold to terrorists in Arge, Lake Chad.
The intelligence group wrote: “Troops successfully apprehended notorious terrorist gunrunner Ahmed Acharif in Garin Dogo, Niger Republic, on February 12th, with 31 million Naira in cash.
“Reportedly, the cash was payment for arms and ammunition sold to terrorists in Arge, Lake Chad.”
In another development, armed bandits have abducted over 40 villagers including 21 members of same family in Kasuwar Daji village, Kaura Namoda local government area of Zamfara State.
A source close to the family told Daily Trust on phone that the armed bandits stormed the village around 1 am Tuesday for a revenge operation.
According to the source, 21 members of the family of the former chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Hamisu Kasuwar Daji, which include his two wives, 13 children, a brother and dependants were abducted.
He further confirmed that two policeman were killed during the operation that lasted three hours.
“Immediately they arrived at the village, they attacked the police station that is attached to the resident of Alhaji Hamisu Kasuwar Daji. They entered the residence and abducted two wives. The third wife was lucky, the bandits could not have access to her room.
“They also searched several houses around and abducted many people before they left the village. We are terrified by the attack,” he concluded.
