University of Abuja Teaching Hospital unveils, renamed Trauma Centre after Nigeria’s First Lady,Aisha Buhari.

The University of Abuja Teaching Hospital UATH Gwagwalada Board and Management has unveiled the renamed trauma centre after Nigeria’s first Lady, Dr Aisha Buhari.

The renovated and furnished building carried out by Nigeria’s First Lady was recovered from a public private partnership PPP arrangements.

During the commissioning on Wednesday, December 14 in Gwagwalada, Mrs Buhari’s gesture was lauded by the Board and Management of the hospital.

The Board Chairman, Dr Sam Sam Jaja recalled the visit of Nigeria’s first Lady during the commissioning of an Endocrine centre built, donated and commissioned by Sustainable Development Goals SDGs in Nigeria last year in the hospital.

He said the kind gesture by Mrs Buhari has contributed to the provision of health care services to patients in the hospital among many other demands.

Dr Mrs Aisha Buhari had promised during the last visit to renovate and furnish the edifice, a promise he obliged after a year.

The Chief Medical Director CMD, University of Abuja Teaching Hospital UATH, Professor Bissala Ekele said Mrs Buhari’s contributions to the hospital was innumerable, having facilitated the construction of a world class centre in the hospital, not long she again fulfilled her promise on the new centre.

He prayed for more wisdom to the Nigeria’s first Lady, Mrs Buhari in her wisdom to continue to salvage the downtrodden in the society through her health intervention programs.
