A few hours after the official website of the upcoming Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) digital currency, enaira.com, went live, it has recorded over one million hits. NCC remits N294.3bn to Consolidated Revenue Fund

In an apparent demonstration of the potency of the telecommunications sector is a sustainable cash cow, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has disclosed it remitted a total of N294.312bn generated from spectrum licensing fees to the Consolidated Revenue Fund, which pools government’s receipts.   The regulator also declared an operating surplus of N248.34bn including payments from MTN Nigeria amounting to N71.97bn from spectrum licence and Unified Access Services (UAS) licence.   The regulator said the N294.312bn remitted to the CRF represented cash received from spectrum fees from 2015 till date…
