The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Person’s NCFRMI in Nigeria under the leadership of Hajiya Imaan-Suleiman Ibrahim had put in place a well thought out domesticated programs inline with the global practices to address the plight of Person’s of concern POC’s, internally displaced person’s IDPs and the Refugees.

This was inspite of the growing demands instigated by both natural and humanitarian crises across the country, as glaring government policies and programs was put in place to confront both natural and artificial phenomenon.

Coming at a time when the commission in Nigeria had not only provided accomodation for the IDPs away from temporary make shifts arrangements in the North -East expected to spread across IDPs camps in Nigeria.

The Refugees Commission was ahead of all eventualities through provision of basic necessities of life through Project Zero Hunger, Project Health for all , Project Skill up, Project Literacy among many other emergencies, that had placed the displaced and person’s of concern in a vantage and secured environment.

The leadership of the commission under Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim had approached this year’s 77th UN General Assembly, with series of humanitarian activities and possible solutions towards ameliorating the plight of the disadvantaged and displaced in Nigeria.

With the yearly and usual tempo of the security council of the UN General Assembly targeted towards resolving humanitarian crises across the globe with Nigeria not in exception, as this year’s program and long week session was to find an amicable and lasting solutions towards curtailing continuous humanitarian crises.

Matching solutions with resolutions of the UN General Assembly security council and the session, The Honorable Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees Migrants and Internally Displaced Person’s NCFRMI, Hajiya Imaan-Suleiman said the commission in Nigeria apart from it’s series of repatriations, asylum seekers, returnees engagements into profitable ventures, with the planned to repatriate 500 , 000 Refugees displaced across three African countries back to Nigeria, will be the cardinal objectives and point of action of the agency in the next few months from Niger, Cameron and Chad.

The exercise that will commence in phases was a Presidential directive geared towards bringing back all distressed and displaced Nigerians stranded across the neighboring countries.

The global decisions domesticated by Nigerian government under the leadership of it’s agency in charge of the vulnerables, is expected to start with the repartition policy of 1,000 Refugees in phases towards achieving the set goals aimed at reducing to the barest minimum in recent times.

The policy thrust of the new Refugees Commission was unique and remarkable in its entirety, particularly among the comity of African countries, and the cynosure of the enabling environment by the UN General Assembly.

The planned repatriation will be a major breakthrough by the government of Nigeria towards finding a lasting solutions to the distracting issues of Refugees in Africa, but an exemplary disposition across the globe, in order to bring the person’s of concern POC’s, IDPs across the country under one fold with genuine care and concern.

The policy when sustained will on the long run not only repatriate the estimated figure of 500,000 Refugees from the three African countries, but could spread across more African countries and non- African countries that will jerk up the figures on the long run to millions in the course of time.

The policy thrust embarked through repatriation of 500, 000 Refugees by the commission through a Presidential directive and global template was a veritable tools to addressing humanitarian and human related programs in Nigeria and the diaspora.
