APC CONGRESS: GOV SANI-BELLO CHARGES NEW EXECUTIVE TO BUILD AN ALL-INCLUSIVE PARTY … Says Restoration Agenda On Track

Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello at the weekend said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state was poised to perfecting the restoration agenda being put in place since 2015 by his administration.

He disclosed this shortly after the peaceful conduct of the state congress of the party in Minna, the state capital.

The highly elated governor, who was full of commendation to all stakeholders at the Saturday congress that saw the peaceful emergence of party leaders in the state reaffirmed his determination to take the state to the next level.

According to him, “The peaceful conduct of our state congress was an indication that we are all prepared to work together for the actualization of the restoration agenda we set for our dear state.

The journey which we began in 2015 has now assumed a better pedestal with this rancour-free congress and it has further energised us to ensuring the actualization of the agenda”.

Gov. Sani-Bello commended the congress committee led by Senator Domingo Obende and other party stakeholders for their efforts in ensuring a smooth and peaceful process during the congress.

Governor Sani-Bello then called on the new party executives to put in their best by ensuring the growth of the party at all levels adding that they should run an all inclusive party by carrying every party member along.

“I hope this time around the party will do the needful towards building and growing our party. It is not unusual to have people that will be against you but what matters is majority because majority counts as there has been a lot of complaints of people not being carried along”

Earlier, the congress committee Chairman , Senator Domingo Obende disclosed that all the 36 positions available to the state were unopposed which called for the affirmation of the candidates. Adding that “the committee was fully prepared thinking Niger State is one of those states that cannot agree on principles”.

The Chairman of the 5-man congress committee commended the delegates and singled out Governor Sani-Bello’s consensus building efforts that saw to the success of a rancour -free congress.

“I have been organizing congresses and this is one of the most peaceful one I have chaired. I give kudos to the leadership of the party here in Niger State, as represented by our amiable Governor Abubakar Sani -Bello because it is not easy to agree on affirmation.

“Though I am not surprise that things worked out here. You people have displayed the principle of love and inclusion. This has accounted for what happened here today and I can say APC is moving on in the state.” He added.

The Chairman urged the new party executives to ensure they keep the flag of the party flying as well as ensure that they carry out their responsibilities so as to make their work easy.

The returned state chairman, Engr. Jibrin Imam assured party members that the party would continue to grow from strength to strength, adding that the executives would build on past experience to see that the party wins elections come 2019.

Engr. Imam who revealed that over 2,000 delegates attended the congress also disclosed that the party would embark on physical restructuring of its operations so as to meet the challenges of the 21st century ” especially as 2019 is close”.
