A Northern socio-political group, Arewa People’s Assembly (APA), has urged the Senate to suspend Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan following her sexual harassment allegation against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Alhaji Auta Balarabe, and Director of Orientation and Mobilisation, Mallam Basir Gowon, APA described the claim as “frivolous and lacking credibility,” accusing the Kogi Central Senator of “habitual blackmail and attention-seeking antics.”
The group recommended a one-year suspension from plenary, with the possibility of extension if the senator fails to show remorse, while also calling for a comprehensive mental evaluation of Akpoti-Uduaghan.
APA also urged the public to disregard the allegations, labeled them as a calculated attempt to malign the Senate President and discredit the upper legislative chamber.
