The Assembly Watch has passed a vote of confidence on the Clerk to the National Assembly, CNA, Magaji Tambuwal by matching words with actions over payment of arrears of minimum wage of 32 months to the 9th Assembly legislative aides, described the action as historic.
In a statement issued by Suleiman Mohammed, he asked the CNA to take step to also pay the lingering salary arrears, Duty Tour Allowance DTA, among others to the out gone aides.
He said Tambuwal had broken records of transparent and reliable leadership, who stood by his words that all due allowances will be off set even after the end of their term in office.
It is unique and quality leadership at work, as the decision was rare in recent times, paying former aides their entitlements, expressing confidence that payment of the remaining arrears and severance package will not take a long time.
He urged those in the leadership positions to take cue from the Clerk to the National Assembly, asking public officers to emulate his good virtues and accountable gesture.
