Ban On Motorcyclists Still In Force -Niger Govt

Niger State Government has warned motorcyclists that the law banning the movement of motorcycles from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. was still in force.

This was disclosed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane in a meeting held with the Officials from the Ministries of Justice, Transport and the State Board of Internal Revenue in his Office.

The SSG stressed that the decision to restrict the use of motorcycles from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. was a welcome development as the measure will no doubt check influx of armed bandits as well as drastically prevent criminal activities been perpetrated by the motorcyclists in the State.

Ahmed Matane explained that Niger State remain the most peaceful State in the country and government would not fold its arms and allow some disgruntled elements to trampled on the existing peace, hence the need for Nigerlites to put hands on deck in order to arrest the ugly situation.

He then called on motorcyclists in the state to adhere strictly to the order as security agencies have been directed to enforce the ban and anyone found violating the order would face the full wrath of the law.
