Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Project to be commissioned first quarter, 2023 – Minister

The Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Project in Niger State estimated at $1.2 billion and expected to add 700 Mega Watts of electricity to the national grid will be inaugurated in the first quarter of next year.   This was disclosed by the Minister of Power, Engr. Petrol will cost N462/litre without subsidy — NNPC

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) says it is paying N297 subsidy on every litre of Premium Motor Spirit, commonly known as petrol, that is sold in the country. The company said the combination of various present cost elements has translated to retail pump price of N462 per litre, adding that the subsidy payment of N297 is to make the product easily affordable to Nigerians. JUST IN: Electricity workers suspend strike

Electricity workers, under the umbrella of National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE), have suspended their strike.   The suspension is coming after the entire nation was thrown into darkness hours ago.   News Band reports that the electricity workers embarked on industrial strike action on Wednesday to press home their demands.   The federal government immediately summoned an emergency meeting with the electricity workers after they shut down the national grid.           NewsBand
