The City Boy Movement has debunked a viral social media claim alleging that Seyi Tinubu made a controversial statement suggesting that no force, “not even God,” could stop his father, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, from completing eight years in office.
The allegation emerged after a Facebook user identified as Albab Abdullahi shared a post accusing Seyi Tinubu of making what many online users described as a “blasphemous” remark linked to the president’s perceived 2027 re-election ambition.
According to the viral post, Seyi Tinubu allegedly said: “There is nothing that can stop my father from completing his eight years in power. Not even God is capable.”
Reacting to the development, the City Boy Movement dismissed the statement as entirely false, misleading, and deliberately crafted to provoke public outrage and political tension.
The group maintained that Seyi Tinubu never made such comments and warned against the circulation of fabricated content aimed at damaging reputations and inflaming political sentiments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
It further urged Nigerians to verify sensitive political information before sharing it online, stressing the need for responsible use of social media, especially in an already charged political environment.
