CP FCT warns against criminal infiltration of lawful assembly ….. As police nab 5 for attempted disruption of NANS Convention, illegal possession of firearms

The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, CP Haruna G. Garba has warned against any form of disturbance of public peace, unlawful assembly, and criminal infiltration of lawful assembly within the FCT.

 

The CP Garba gave this warning today, 6th December, 2023, while confirming the arrest of 5 suspects in connection with the attempted infiltration of the 30th November, 2023 NANS convention to disrupt the process. The suspects were promptly intercepted by security operatives, some of whom were handed over to the Police by the Department of State Services.

The suspects are;Adeniran Femi, Ishaya Christopher, Obigi Emeka, Fatokun Ayodele and Abdullahi Saliu .

 

Exhibits recovered from them included a pump action gun, one locally made double barrell shotgun, two locally made pistol, one baretta pistol, fifteen (15) live ammunition, cartridges, an axe, twelve (12) cutlasses, mobile phones, bag containing uniforms of security agencies and a Mazda car with Reg No. RBC909DP which contained some of the exhibits.

 

Police said investigation is being intensified while efforts were ongoing to arrest other suspects still at large. Suspects would be charged to court on conclusion of investigations.

 

Meanwhile, the CP Haruna Garba has assured residents of the unflinching commitment of the command to ensuring and safeguarding public order, safety and security in the FCT.
