Eid-al-Adha: Reps Minority Caucus felicitates with Muslim faithful across Nigeria

The Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives has extended warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha, a sacred celebration that commemorates the profound faith and selfless sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (Peace Be Upon Him) in obedience to the will of Allah.

This was contained in a Sallah message jointly signed by the caucus leaders:
Rep. O.K. Chinda, Minority Leader;
Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Isa J.C, Minority Whip;
Rt. Hon. Aliyu Madaki, Deputy Minority Leader; and Rt. Hon. George Ozodinobi, Deputy Minority Whip.

The caucus described the Eid as a reminder of the timeless values of faith, devotion, and sacrifice, saying:

“This act of worship and sacrifice exhibited by Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) has become a reference point for all of mankind in demonstrating unwavering obedience to God in all circumstances.

The universality of this occasion draws humanity together in a remarkable celebration of our shared values as people.”

As Muslim faithful across Nigeria join others around the world to mark this significant event, the Caucus urged all citizens to reflect on and uphold the lessons embedded in the spirit of Eid.

“We admonish Nigerians to embrace the enduring virtues exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) faith, obedience, generosity, sacrifice, empathy, and love as these are critical to surmounting our nation’s economic, social, political, and security challenges.”

The Caucus further emphasized the need for selflessness, particularly among leaders, and called for continued prayers for national unity, peace, and prosperity.

“As our Muslim brethren savour the warmth and joy of the festivities, we join hands with them in offering prayers and supplications to the Almighty for the healing of our nation and the cultivation of selflessness among those in leadership.”

Happy Eid-al-Adha!
