EID EL FITR: Niger Govt reaffirms commitment to end insecurity

The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane has congratulated the Muslim Ummah all over the world on the conclusion of the Ramadan fast.
In his Eid El Fitr Sallah message to mark the end of the Ramadan fasting period, Ahmed Matane reassured the people of the State of the present administration’s readiness to step up efforts toward curbing armed banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of criminality in the State.
The SSG disclosed that Government is committed to putting an end to the unacceptable wanton carnage and other security challenges in the State through the engagement of traditional, religious leaders and other critical stakeholders to collaborate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious persons or groups to the nearest security agencies.
He further explained that the present administration led by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello was not resting on its oars towards bringing lasting solutions to the insecurity bedeviling the State.
According to Ahmed Matane “effective protection of lives and property of all citizens at all times is the fundamental constitutional responsibility of any meaningful Government, therefore the present administration attaches tremendous importance to the security of lives and properties of the citizens, hence the need for peaceful co-existence among the citizenry”.
He reminded Muslims that the Ramadan fast was an opportunity for them to deepen their relationship with God, promote the life of sacrifice and love for one another irrespective of religious, political, or social affiliations.
The SSG therefore wished the people of the State happy and hitch-free Eid-el Fitr celebrations and appealed for citizens to pray fervently so that the State can get out of the present security situation.
