FCC Commissioner seeks Equity in Recruitment

The Federal Character Commissioner representing Ogun state, Hon Akinlade Abiodun Isiaq today paid a courtesy call to the Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka, Anambra State.

 

According to the commissioner, the visit which was to seek for equitable distribution of personnel in all Federal establishments including NAU , was in line with the mandate of the Federal Character Commission.

 

While speaking, Hon. Akinlade said “we visit Federal Institutions across the state to ensure that the guidelines of the commission are complied with so in line with this we have come here to carry the management along.”

In his response, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Esimone pledged to work with the Commission in the implementation of its guidelines.

 

Esinone stated that the university has the entire country as its catchment area and will seek to work with the Federal Character Commission in ensuring that recruitments into the University reflect national spread and merit so that no group will feel marginalized.

 

Also present at the exercise were the Pro- Chancellor and the Council Chairman of the University Prof. Sulyman Kuranga,, Fed. Commissioner representing Anambra State Rev Ibeabuchi, NAU Registrar, Board members, resource personnel and others.

 

The Federal Character Commission was established to implement and enforce the Federal Character Principle of fairness and equity in the distribution of public posts across all institutions of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
