Police operatives of FCT Command attached to the Anti -kidnapping unit and the Rubochi Division Police Headquarters in the continued fight against kidnapping in FCT, rescued 14 kidnapped victims on the 24/01/2024 at about 0530 hrs.
The combined team, acting on credible intelligence stormed a Kidnapper’s den located at Ukya village via Nasarawa state bordering FCT, on sighting the police operatives, the hoodlums opened fire on the police operatives which resulted in gun duel, the police operatives neutralized one of the kidnappers as the rest scampered to nearby forest with various degrees of bullet wounds.
The hostages who were rescued unhurt have since been reunited with their loved one.
Meanwhile,the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Haruna G. Garba,has reiterated his commitment to rid FCT of Criminality in all its manifestations and maintenance of peace for all and sundry.
