The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a suspected traffic robber and recovered three mobile phones, a dagger, and a motorcycle allegedly used in criminal operations around the National Hospital area of Abuja.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the suspect, identified as Yahuza Sani, was apprehended by operatives attached to the Central Police Station (CPS) during a routine anti-crime patrol at about 7:00 p.m. on June 21, 2026.
The police said the arrest followed a swift intervention by undercover patrol officers strategically deployed in response to reports of traffic robberies targeting unsuspecting motorists and commuters in the area.
Adeh disclosed that the suspect was caught while allegedly attempting to rob a female victim of her valuables.
“A search conducted on the suspect led to the recovery of three mobile phones, one dagger, and one motorcycle used in the commission of the crime,” the statement said.
The Command further revealed that another suspected accomplice escaped during the operation and remains at large. Efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing suspect.
The arrested suspect is expected to be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
