The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has intensified efforts to strengthen criminal investigations with the training of its personnel and other stakeholders on modern forensic and fraud investigation techniques.
The one-day intensive training programme, held at the Police Resource Centre, Jabi, Abuja, on June 8, 2026, was organised by the FCT Police Command in collaboration with forensic expert, Erelu Dr. Pearl Chidinma Ogbulu, through Pearl Forensic Risk Advisory Services, with the approval of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
The programme was designed to enhance participants’ capacity in forensic and fraud investigations, improve professionalism, boost investigative competence, and support effective crime detection and prosecution.
Declaring the training open, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, commended the organisers for their commitment to capacity building within the security sector. He urged officers and other participants to take full advantage of the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to address emerging and sophisticated criminal activities.
According to the police commissioner, modern policing requires continuous learning, innovation, and adaptation to evolving crime trends, stressing that well-trained investigators remain critical to effective law enforcement and criminal justice administration.
The training featured practical and theoretical sessions covering forensic investigation, fraud detection, evidence management, investigative procedures, and other key aspects of criminal investigations. Participants were exposed to global best practices aimed at improving operational efficiency and the quality of investigations.
At the end of the programme, certificates of participation were presented to attendees in recognition of their successful completion of the training.
The FCT Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance the competence of its personnel and strengthen policing effectiveness across the Federal Capital Territory.
