The Speaker,Federal House of Representatives,Hon.Femi Gbajabiamila has condoled with the government and people of Niger State over the death of Hon. Jafaru Iliyasu Auna, member, representing Magama/Rijau Federal Constituency.
Gbajabiamila, who was received at Government House, Minna, by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, described the death of the Federal Lawmaker as a colossal loss, not just to his constituency and the state government but also the House of Representatives in particular and the country as a whole.
“The sad news of his demise came to the House as a shock. It is really unfortunate because of the potentials many of us believed he had, we believe it is a loss to the whole of Nigeria because we believe he still had a lot more to offer.”
The Speaker, accompanied by Governor Sani Bello, was also at the deceased’s residence where he commiserated with the family and prayed God to grant the late Hon. Jafaru Iliyasu Auna eternal rest and reward him with Jannatul Firdausi.
While pledging the House of Representatives support for the family, the Speaker acknowledged the remarkable contributions and service rendered to the people in his brief stint as a Federal Lawmaker stressing that the deceased will be greatly missed.
Receiving the Speaker earlier, Governor Sani Bello advised politicians to desist from taking politics to the extreme adding that, as Nigerians, we may have our own political divide, but it was not in our political interest to take issues too far.
He admonished supporters of politicians to stop killing each other as its not worth it noted that they may not even benefit when their candidate eventually wins.
The Governor appreciated the Speaker and his colleagues who thronged into the state capital, Minna, to condole with the state government and the bereaved family.
Governor Sani Bello described the late Jafaru Iliyasu Auna as a hardworking and jovial personality adding that the little time he spent as a legislator will be missed. He also prayed for the reposed soul of the late member and that God gives the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
