The Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Projects Implementation and Monitoring, Engr. Ufoma Bello, has reaffirmed Governor Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to driving infrastructural development across the state.
Speaking at the first quarterly stakeholders’ engagement held at the Government House in Benin City, Bello emphasized that infrastructure remains a core mandate of the administration. The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including officials from the Edo State Ministry of Works, the Edo State Public Buildings and Maintenance Agency (EDPUBMA), and the Projects Implementation and Monitoring Department.
The engagement aimed to ensure that all infrastructural projects—including roads, public buildings, and other facilities—are properly contracted, monitored, and executed in line with international standards.
According to Engr. Bello, “Governor Okpebholo’s administration has a mandate to drive infrastructural development in Edo State. To achieve this, we need strong collaboration between the Ministry of Works and my office to ensure that all projects are completed on schedule and meet global best practices.”
She also stressed the importance of community involvement in monitoring government-funded projects, ensuring transparency and long-term sustainability.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works, Engr. John Obanor, described the engagement as a strategic forum to align with the governor’s vision and enhance synergy among stakeholders.
As part of efforts to sustain the momentum, the next quarterly stakeholders’ meeting is scheduled to hold later in the year, ahead of Governor Okpebholo’s first 100 days in office.
