Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello, has condoled with the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai, over the death of his father, Alhaji Yusufu Buratai.
Alhaji Yusufu Buratai passed away on February 8, 2018 in a hospital in Maiduguri after a brief illness.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace , Governor Sani-Bello described Alhaji Yusufu Buratai as a “vibrant leader who was a great promoter of peaceful co-existence, development and the unity of the country.
He lauded the efforts of the ex-serviceman who joined the West African Army in 1942 and fought the Second World War.
The Governor prayed Allah to grant the deceased Aljana Firdausi and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Late Alhaji Yusufu Buratai was married with 14 children, including the Chief of Army Staff and many grandchildren.
He was also a military personality having been a non-commissioned officer in the West African Frontier Force.
