HAJJ 2022: FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board completes operation.

The Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced completion the 2022 hajj exercise with the return of its last set of worshippers from Saudi Arabia.

 

The Director of the Board, Mallam Muhammad Nasiru Danmallam made the declaration at the Nnamdi Azikwe International airport on arrival from the King AbdulAziz International airport Jiddah, kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

 

Mallam Danmallam stated that with the return flights recorded so far from Saudi Arabia, the Board has returned all the FCT contingent that participated in the religious exercise this year.

 

The Director gave praises to Allah for the success recoded as the Board didn’t register any casualty and also no serious health challenges from the pilgrims was recorded while in Saudi Arabia.

 

He explained that all the contingent have exhibited maturity and good conduct throughout the exercise.

 

He was excited with their satisfactory behavior as good ambassadors of the Territory and the country at large.

 

He disclosed that none of the FCT pilgrims eloped during the exercise.

 

He also disclosed that the airlift of the pilgrims of the FCT to Saudi Arabia commenced on 10th June and the entire contingent was conveyed to Saudi Arabia in 5 flights which ended on 3rd July with a total of 1,918 Pilgrims.

 

Again, according to the Director all the pilgrims visited Madina before the performance of the hajj proper.

 

The return journey, according to him, commenced on 15th and rounded up today being 30th July, 2022.

 

The Director was also delighted with the performance of officials who participated in the offshore operation.

 

In his words, “I am so delighted with the performance of the ad hoc and regular staff, especially the Ulamas who were handy in guiding the pilgrims on how to perform their religious rite at any point in time throughout the operation.

In the same vain he commended all the staff who served the pilgrims tirelessly throughout the operation to ensure the successes recorded during the entire exercise”.

 

Mallam Danmallam also expressed appreciation for the support the Board received from the FCT Administration and in particular the Minister of State, FCT, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu throughout the exercise.

 

He said the Administration has provided not only the enabling environment but also finances as well as necessary logistics to the Board in order to adequately cater for the welfare of the pilgrims.
