The House of Representatives has announced a major reshuffling of its standing committees, appointed new Chairpersons and Deputy Chairpersons to enhance legislative oversight and efficiency. Among the newly appointed leaders, Hon. Ifeoluwa Ehindero, representing Akoko Northeast/Northwest Federal Constituency, has been named Chairman of the House Committee on Students Loans, Scholarships, and Higher Education Financing, which oversees the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
Hon. Ehindero, in his reaction, expressed gratitude to the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, and the leadership for entrusting him with the role. He assured Nigerians of his commitment to ensuring that NELFUND fulfill its mandate of making higher education more accessible and affordable for students across the country.
“I deeply appreciate the Speaker and the House leadership for this appointment. It is a privilege to serve in this capacity, and I am committed to ensuring that NELFUND operates efficiently and transparently to benefit Nigerian students,” Ehindero stated.
He further emphasized the importance of education in national development and pledged to work with key stakeholders to strengthen the implementation of the education loan scheme.
The appointment of Hon. Ehindero is expected to bring renewed focus on higher education financing and provide legislative oversight that will improve access to education loans for Nigerian students.
