The newly inaugurated National President of Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Chief Chris Isiguzo has said that he was not ready to probe the immediate past administration of the union led by Comrade Waheed Odusile but the Central Working committee of NUJ will summon the past Executive members to explain how it came about the bequeathed N23 million debt profile.
NUJ National President said the new executive inherited nothing from the Odusile led executives, except a debt profile of N23 million.
Chris Isiguzo who stated this in a Press Conference at the National Secretariat of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Abuja assured members that his administration will be bring desirable changes to the union.
While displaying the original copies of his certificates to clear the air on the alleged certificate forgery , NUJ President said that he had forgiven those who accused him of certificate forgery, he enjoined his accusers to henceforth desist from such act as his administration will not tolerate unethical practices in the union.
Chief Chris Isiguzo highlighted part of his agenda which includes: Regular payments of the union staff salaries , Regularly payment of Check up dues, Build operate and transfer arrangement for the NUJ landed property, Transformation of the union financial status, Elimination of quackery,Training for journalists,Strict adherence to constitution, Welfare of Journalists,Provision of ICT Center in all state councils, Restructuring of International Institute of Journalism IIJ to become a viable source of income for the union, Establishment of stabilization funds among others
Chief Isiguzo then appealed to members of the union to support his restoration agenda
