The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Thursday paid a condolence visit to the family of late Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ejeh Alfred at their residence in Abuja, following the officer’s tragic death in the line of duty.
ASP Ejeh, who served as a driver with the Nigeria Police Airwing, lost his life on April 17, 2026, during an operational mission. His death has been described as a significant loss to the Nigeria Police Force and the nation at large.
During the visit, the IGP extended his heartfelt sympathies to the widow, Mrs. Mercy Ejeh, her children, and other members of the family. He described the late officer as a dedicated and committed professional whose sacrifice in service to the country would not be forgotten.
Olatunji Rilwan Disu reassured the bereaved family of the Force’s continued support, emphasizing that the welfare of officers and the families of those who die in active service remains a top priority under his leadership.
He further reiterated his commitment to improving the welfare and morale of police personnel, noting that the bravery and dedication of officers on the frontline are vital to maintaining national security.
The police chief also offered prayers for the repose of the late officer’s soul and pledged that the Nigeria Police Force would stand firmly by the family during this period of grief.
