The Imo state Labour Party House of Assembly candidate ,Hon.Mrs. Nkechinyere Anyanwu Mbachu, during her courtesy visit to Umuogele, Umuariam Obowo, shared her plans to transform the lives of women to a more productive capacity.
Speaking at the Palace of HRH, Late Eze Sir Edmund Enyinaya Sunday Ineh on Monday 20th February, she encouraged the women who waited patiently for her arrival and were filled with joy on her visit.
The LP candidate encouraged them to remain Obidient and vote for Peter Obi and Senator Baba-Ahmed Datti in the upcoming presidential elections on Saturday.
“Peter Obi remains the best candidate in this race. He has the capacity, credibility, and commitment to transform the nation Nigeria, vote massively for a new Nigeria, vote Peter Obi.” She said.
The Honourable hinted that while she is confident that she will represent Obowo in the house in the next Assembly, she is overwhelmed by the overconfidence of the electorates, especially women and youth
The women demonstrated their willingness to support the emergence of the 1st woman representative in Obowo, and revealed that just like other areas have done and benefited immensely under female representatives, it is time for Obowo to demonstrate gender equality and unbiase and tap into such developments. They assured Princess Nkechinyere that come all elections, they will vote for Labour Party.
After her visit, women were seen sharing their thoughts on her visit and campaign promises. They were of strong opinion that the days of manipulations and political deceits are over. They want someone with a track record of transforming lives and lifting people out of poverty. Princess Nkechinyere has shown capacity in eradicating mud houses in her community, building brick houses for the poor, giving scholarships to the youths, etc.
Obowo is not just Obidient in the presidential election but also in the House of Assembly, where they hope to align with a new Nigeria at the central level, thereby making A New Obowo Possible
The convener of the meeting, Chuks Ineh, who is an ardent supporter of Peter Obi and Labour Party member, told his people to trust Princess and give her the support and vote. The Obowo Labour Party local government chairman, Hon. Nwaohia, Hon. Azugiro and the DG of the campaign also spoke to the people.
During the meeting, the Chairman of Labour Party Leaders Obowo, Dr. Chikwe Leo inducted Chuks Ineh as a leader in the party in Obowo.
The meeting was graced by men, youths, and, of course, women who came out in their numbers. The Umuogele youth leader, Mr. Ugochukwu Okonko also assured the labour party team and entire community that elections will be closely monitored to avoid disruptions and give all the chance to exercise their franchise without fear or intimidation
