The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, winner of the 2026 governorship election.
Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who secured 444,815 votes.
The result gave Adeleke a winning margin of 66,252 votes.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, finished third with 17,180 votes.
The declaration followed the completion of the collation of results from all 30 local government areas of the state. Adeleke won 19 LGAs, while Oyebamiji secured 11.
According to the figures announced by INEC, 2,339,544 voters were registered for the election, while 1,010,684 voters were accredited.
A total of 1,005,800 votes were cast, comprising 985,079 valid votes and 20,721 rejected votes.
The victory secures Adeleke another term as governor after a keenly contested election against the APC candidate.
The outcome also confirms Adeleke’s lead during the collation process, with the Accord candidate maintaining an advantage across a majority of the state’s local government areas.
