The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, has extended heartfelt Eid al-Adha greetings to all Muslims, particularly the Nigerian pilgrims currently performing Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In a statement released on Friday, Professor Usman congratulated Muslims on the occasion of Eid al-Adha and expressed special felicitations to pilgrims who witnessed the sacred Day of Arafat, praying for the acceptance of their prayers and sacrifices.
He urged the faithful to reflect deeply on the spiritual lessons of the Hajj, citing the trust and sacrifices made by Sayyidatuna Hajara and Prophet Ibrahim (AS). “Trust in Allah, obedience to leadership, and discipline will make communities and nations prosper,” he emphasized.
Speaking on the progress of the ongoing Hajj operations, the NAHCON Chairman praised the remarkable patience and discipline exhibited by Nigerian pilgrims, describing their conduct as a major factor in the success recorded so far.
He further acknowledged the efforts of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards for their coordination and support, which he said contributed significantly to the smooth operations.
“Our dedicated NAHCON staff, many of whom served even while in ihram, deserve commendation. Their sacrifices are noted and will be rewarded by Allah, while also appreciating the Board Members and Ad-hoc staff for their commitment to serving the guests of Allah”.he stated
Professor Usman expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima for their unwavering support, described it as crucial to the success of the 2025 Hajj exercise.
Looking ahead, the NAHCON Chairman announced that the return journey for Nigerian pilgrims would commence on the 13th of Dhul-Hijjah. According to him, the first return flights will include pilgrims from Imo State (Air Peace), Bauchi State (Max Air), and Kebbi and Sokoto States (Flynas).
He urged pilgrims scheduled for the first flights to prepare accordingly and prayed for a smooth and successful return operation for all.
“Eid Mubarak once again. May Allah accept our Hajj, our sacrifices, and our prayers,” Professor Usman concluded.
