As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen multi-agency collaboration in the fight against human trafficking, the Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Binta Adamu Bello, on Tuesday led senior management staff of the Agency on a courtesy visit to the Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI), Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), Major General Emmanuel Undiandeye Parker, at the DIA Headquarters in Abuja.
During the visit, the NAPTIP DG commended the DIA for its continued support to the Agency, which she said has been instrumental in several successful operations. She also outlined the Agency’s strides in awareness creation, prevention campaigns, rescue of victims, arrests, and the conviction of numerous traffickers.
Bello emphasized the importance of enhanced collaboration, particularly in intelligence sharing and capacity building, to further strengthen the Agency’s operational efficiency.
Responding, the CDI, Major General Parker, lauded NAPTIP’s proactive efforts in combating human trafficking and reiterated the DIA’s commitment to supporting the Agency. He assured that the DIA would continue to assist through training, capacity development, and timely intelligence sharing aimed at dismantling trafficking networks and protecting vulnerable Nigerians.
The visit underscored the resolve of both Agencies to reinforce their partnership in addressing one of Nigeria’s most pressing transnational crimes.
