As Nigeria accelerate its journey toward becoming Africa’s leading digital economy, cybersecurity has become a critical national priority.
In response to the growing need for digital protection, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in partnership with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), has announced the inaugural National Cybersecurity Conference (NCSC 2025). The landmark event will take place from 9th to 10th July 2025 at the Abuja Continental Hotel, Abuja.
Speaking at a press briefing held at the NITDA Headquarters in Abuja, the Director-General of NITDA emphasized that while Nigeria’s digital transformation presented enormous opportunities for innovation and economic growth, it also introduced serious risks such as cybercrime, data breaches, and threats to critical national infrastructure.
He stated that the NCSC 2025 will serve as a premier platform for strategic engagement, cross-sectoral collaboration, and knowledge-sharing to address these emerging threats and secure Nigeria’s digital space.
Themed “Securing Nigeria’s Digital Future: Innovation, Collaboration, and Resilience,” the two-day hybrid conference will bring together key stakeholders from government, industry, academia, civil society, and the international community.
Organized in collaboration with QNA International, Dubai, a global leader in industry events, NCSC 2025 promised a world-class experience with global best practices in cybersecurity.
Participants can look forward to live technical sessions, interactive workshops, and exhibitions showcasing cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions. The conference will also feature keynote addresses and panel discussions by renowned global cybersecurity experts. A major highlight will be a ‘Capture the Flag’ (CTF) hackathon aimed at discovering and empowering young Nigerian tech talents. Strategic networking opportunities will connect players from both the public and private sectors, while an award dinner will recognize outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s cybersecurity landscape.
The conference has been carefully designed to achieve several strategic objectives: strengthening Nigeria’s cyber resilience, protecting critical digital infrastructure, facilitating international cooperation against cybercrime, driving innovation and workforce development in cybersecurity, and enhancing inter-agency and cross-sectoral coordination. Additionally, it seeks to promote youth engagement through competitive platforms that encourage talent discovery and innovation.
Underscoring the urgency of collective action, the DG issued a nationwide call to government institutions, businesses, academic institutions, civil society organizations, and media professionals to actively participate in the conference.
