The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, has hosted the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs, Felipe Paullier, in a strategic engagement aimed at advancing youth development through digital transformation.
The high-level meeting focused on deepening collaboration between NITDA and the United Nations to empower young Nigerians with relevant digital skills, tools, and platforms needed to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving global economy.
Speaking during the engagement, Abdullahi reaffirmed NITDA’s commitment to youth-focused initiatives, highlighting ongoing programmes in digital literacy, innovation support, startup incubation, and capacity building. He noted that these interventions are designed to unlock the vast potential of Nigeria’s youthful population and position them for meaningful participation in the digital economy.
He further emphasised that young people remain central to Nigeria’s digital agenda, stressing that NITDA’s strategies are intentionally tailored to equip them with future-ready skills while creating pathways for sustainable economic growth.
On his part, Paullier underscored the importance of global collaboration in addressing youth development challenges, noting that partnerships such as this are critical in fostering innovation, inclusion, and resilience among young people.
