The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has congratulated Ikharo Attah on his appointment as Special Adviser on Media and Communication to the Minister of Education, Dr. Morufu Olatunji Alausa.
In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, the Chairman of the Council, Grace Ike, described Attah’s appointment as well-deserved, citing his track record of professionalism and dedication in the media industry.
The Council noted that prior to his new role, Attah served as Head of News at Independent Television, where he demonstrated strong leadership, integrity, and commitment to journalistic excellence.
According to the NUJ FCT Council, his extensive experience in newsroom management and public communication positions him to effectively enhance the Ministry’s media outreach and policy dissemination.
The statement further described the appointment as a recognition of Attah’s contributions to the media sector, expressing confidence that he would promote transparent communication, support educational reforms, and contribute to national development.
The Council also urged him to uphold the highest standards of journalism while advancing the role of the media in nation-building.
