Ogbomoso Power Station:Sunday Dare Inspects, deploys Engineers, Contractors, TCN to Site

Honourable Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Chief Sunday Dare has inspected and deployed Engineers from the Federal Ministry of Power and officials of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to the Ogbomoso Power Station, situated along Ogbomoso-Iresa road.

 

The 2 x 60 MVA, 132/33KVA transmission station is an electricity project that has been on for about thirteen years prompting Minister Sunday Dare to deploy a team of Engineers from Abuja, the contractors and officials of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), to the site, for the purposes of assessment, verification and completion.

 

Speaking in a brief intwrview with journalists at the site, the Minister said, “this 132/33 KVA substation is a project of the Federal Government, for the people of Ogbomoso, initiated 13 years ago, having the contributions of Senators Brimo Yusuf and Ayoade Adeseun.

 

“When I came in as the Minister, I decided to visit all the Federal Government projects in Ogbomoso, and for this I came with the officials of the Ministry of power, six senior engineers from the Ministry of Power. The project is 95% ready, just 5% remaining, this inspection and assessment is part of the verification.

 

“With the level of work done so far, the success achieved I need to thank President Muhammadu Buhari, and going by the assessment, I must commend the Minister and the Ministry Power, for the professionalism, dedication and commitment to this project.

 

“As a technocrat and a politician, I know part of the problems we have in Ogbomoso is about energy, industries and businesses will spring up and get boosted, I’m adding my own quota. I’ve spoken to some people like Dangote about industrializing Ogbomoso, I want to see Ogbomoso become industrialised and getting the needed infrastructure as much as possible, just like we have I have been trying to bring more, in that line, there’s an 80 bed capacity Specialist Hospital that is ready to take off we are liaising with consultant at UCH, soon it will be in for use.

 

“Let’s continue to be pro-ogbomoso, let’s all come together and find a way to connect, just like our APC logo, let’s join hands together to develop Ogbomoso.

I have to thank the Minister of Power for this laudable project. Design, installation and the line”, the Agbaakin of Ogbomosoland concluded.

 

According to the representative of the company in charge of the contract, Cartlark International Ltd., and the site Engineer, Mr. Godwin Udo, “the project is almost 100% complete, remaining finishing touches and the transition line. Just as the Minister said, it will soon be completed and Commissioned, in about 2 months time”.

 

With this intervention, facilitated by Minister Sunday Dare, the contractors in charge of the project assured speedy completion and light up of communities across Ogbomosoland, in about two months time, as work is on to connect the transition line to Ganmo, Ote area of Kwara State.

 

This is another milestone by the Agbaakin of Ogbomosoland, in facilitating live transforming projects for the development of Ogbomosoland, as such additional fund from the NNPC tax completion for Oyo-Ogbomoso express road, Renovation of National Youth Development Centre, Ogbomoso, for Ayede Federal Polytechnic Temporary Site take off, Renovation of Pavilion at Soun stadium, that is roofing of Soun Stadium, Community Sports Complex, ikoyi-ile Oriire LG Ogbomoso, equipments of Okelerin Primary Hospital, Ogbomoso, 18 seater Bus to Federal Polytechnic Ayede, 30 room ensuite hostel to Ayede Polytechnic, Ogbomoso Sports Arena and Youth Centre, 80 bed capacity Specialist hospital, Pakiotan Ogbomoso, to mention just a few.
