Ogbomoso Restoration Movement Celebrates Prof. Oyekale Oyedeji with Valedictory Lecture at LAUTECH

In recognition of academic excellence and dedicated service to science and education, the Ogbomoso Restoration Movement on Saturday held a valedictory lecture in honour of Professor Oyekale Oyedeji, a distinguished Professor of Mathematics and Physics from Ogbomoso.

The event, which took place at The Hall, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, attracted dignitaries from within and outside the academic community. It marked yet another milestone in the organization’s efforts to promote excellence and celebrate outstanding contributions to community development.

The keynote lecture, titled “Smart Future: Harnessing Science, Technology, and Innovation as a Tool for Sustainable Development in Africa,” was delivered by Professor Akintade Dare. He emphasized the critical role of technological advancement in driving sustainable development across Africa when strategically applied.

The lecture was officially declared open by the Vice Chancellor of LAUTECH, Professor Olatunde Kalilu, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Araromi.

The event also witnessed the presence of the Soun-in-Council, led by High Chief Kasali, the Abese of Ogbomoso, representing His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, the Soun of Ogbomosoland.

The well-attended lecture further reinforced the Ogbomoso Restoration Movement’s dedication to recognizing intellectual contributions and promoting the development of Ogbomoso and its people.
