The Niger State Police Command has apprehended an 18-year-old suspect, Fatiyah Abdulhakeem, in connection with the murder of Mr. Adamu Jagaba and the theft of his vehicle.
The incident occurred on 7th December 2024, at a block industry along Eastern Bye-pass, Minna. Reports indicated that Abdulhakeem, who worked as the victim’s car painter, attacked Jagaba with a knife and a stapler during a visit to discuss vehicle repairs. The victim was rushed to a hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after.
According to the Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, SP W.A. Abiodun, the stolen Toyota Camry with registration number MNA 61 AE was intercepted by the Police Crack Squad later that evening at Bosso Estate Road, Minna.
During interrogation, Abdulhakeem confessed to the crime, revealed that he had conspired with some of Jagaba’s workers, who provided him with critical information for the attack. He also admitted to working with a gang involved in similar crimes and provided names of his accomplices, who are now being sought by authorities.
The suspect is in custody and will be charged to court upon the completion of the investigation. Efforts to apprehend other gang members involved in the heinous act are ongoing.
