Police rescue kidnapped Niger APC Chairman

The Niger State Police Command confirmed that the abducted APC Zone ‘C’ chairman, Alh. Aminu Musa Bobi has been released by his abductors and subsequently rescued unhurt.
Recall that on 7th August,2021 about 1430hrs, suspected armed men attacked the APC Chairman and his driver, one Nasiru Bobi on their way to the farm along Ukuru road in Bobi district area of Mariga LGA. The driver was shot on the leg and abandoned by the assailants while the chairman was abducted.
On the receipt of the information, the Niger state police command mobilized a joint Police, army and vigilante team to the area for manhunt of the gunmen. The driver was later rescued and taken to general hospital Kontagora where he received medical treatment while the abducted chairman was released by the abductors on Friday 13th August ,2021 at about 1530hrs and resurfaced around Igwama forest, Bobi district area of Mariga LGA of the state.
Police said “The victim was subsequently rescued from the forest, debriefed and taken to general hospital, Kontagora for medical attention, while effort to track down the culprits is being intensified.
“The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Monday Bala Kuryas, fsi appreciated the efforts of Nigerlites for their support towards the recent achievements recorded, and reiterated his commitment and readiness to ensure that the students of Mallam Salihu Tanko Islamiyya are equally released and rescued unhurt.
“He further solicits for more cooperation of Nigerlites by giving useful information to the Police towards achieving the desired goal of a more secured environment”.
