The House Committee on Commerce has applauded the Registrar-General,Hussaini Ishaq Magaji,for his commitment to ensuring prompt and efficient service delivery.
The Chairman of the Committee, Honourable Ahmed Munir Lere, gave the commendation today when He led members of the Committee on a visit to the Commission as part of oversight function of Federal Government Agencies under the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment.
Hon. Lere said the visit was to provide an opportunity for the Committee to familiarize itself with staff, the workings of the Commission, policies, challenges, and prospects.
He added that it would also strengthen the collaborative relationship between the Committee and the Commission.
He therefore expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded the Committee and the fruitful deliberations during the visit.
In his remarks, the Registrar-General welcomed the Chairman and members of the Committee and took time to brief them on the functions, structure, activities, achievements, and challenges of the Commission.
Dwelling on the Commission’s challenges, the CAC Boss appealed to the Committee to assist in the review of the Commission’s fees and charges in accordance with the current economic realities.
He maintained that the CAC provided services and is not a revenue-generating Agency.
Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, enlisted the Committee’s support to upgrade the CAC internet bandwidth to accommodate multiple registrations as well as eradicate occasional downtime.
In his contribution, Hon. Mohammed Umar Biu described the Registrar-General’s appointment as well deserved, as he has demonstrated capacity to perform with his four-point agenda.
Umar Biu said the Committee was excited by his impeccable record of revenue generation and prudent expenditure.
CAC News reports that in the entourage of the Chairman, House Committee on Commerce, were top-ranking members, including the Vice Chairman, House Committee on Commerce, Hon. (Amb) James Shuaibu Barka, and Commerce Committee Clerk, Mrs. Onyekachi Joe Nwaogu, among others.
