That Kogi Woman Everybody Likes By Onoja Johnson

While it seems impossible for any leader to be liked and or loved by everyone around, it’s yet to be heard that someone somewhere is displeased with the life, career or leadership of the former national women leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hajiya Salamatu Baiwa Umar. No wonder, the amazon is sailing seamlessly to the peak of her political career.
As it is rooted in the principles of nature, giving has made Hajiya Salamatu to continue getting without season. It’s said that she has never left anyone same way she met them as its her second nature to give a lifting hand.
Describing the impact of the Mrs. Salamatu over the years, a top aide to the Kogi State Deputy Governor, Felix Omachoko Solomon wrote, “No woman in the last one hundred years has created an impact on the memory of our people as Hajia Salamatu Baiwa has.”
Nothing seems truer than this affirmation as I have got a first hand experience with the Hajia.
Beyond politics, Hajiya Salamatu Baiwa has etched her name in the plague of our hearts and sands of time.
As she continues to leave her arms opened to receiving everyone, we do hope that she would also be received by everyone someday when the Lord shall prompt her for a higher leadership role as a wind of hope to the people of Kogi State and Nigeria at large.
It’s another day of celebration for the people of Kogi as the woman everybody likes is a year older today. It’s our prayer that the Lord keeps her as the world needs her, especially, in these days of bad leadership, hardship and abject poverty.
