President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on his administration’s promises, declaring that he will not disappoint Nigerians as efforts continue to stabilise and transform the country.
Speaking on Thursday at the State House in Abuja while receiving members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, the President said his government remained focused on building a peaceful, stable, and prosperous nation where citizens can fully participate in economic growth.
Tinubu emphasised that longstanding structural challenges undermining prosperity are being addressed through ongoing economic reforms aimed at inclusion and opportunity creation, particularly for vulnerable groups.
“I will not run away from the responsibility. You will not regret it,” the President assured, urging citizens to remain hopeful and supportive of the reform agenda.
The meeting was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC National Chairman Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, and several governors, including Mai Mala Buni, Inuwa Yahaya, Nasir Idris, Francis Nwifuru, Sheriff Oborevwori, Ahmed Usman Ododo, Biodun Oyebanji, Hyacinth Alia, Agbu Kefas, Monday Okpebholo, and Uba Sani.
Also present were former governors such as Aminu Bello Masari, Ifeanyi Okowa, and Tanko Al-Makura, alongside former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim.
The President called on the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to intensify grassroots mobilisation and public sensitisation on government policies, stressing that citizen participation is key to national development.
“You represent the conscience of a nation determined to break free from poverty and hopelessness,” Tinubu said, adding that democracy, rule of law, and respect for institutions remain central to his administration.
He also cautioned Nigerians against misinformation from opposition elements, insisting that meaningful reforms often come with initial challenges but yield long-term benefits.
In his remarks, Governor Uzodimma said the delegation briefed the President on progress made nationwide, noting that structures have been established down to the grassroots, with ongoing data collection and mobilisation across communities, markets, schools, and faith-based organisations.
Former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, praised the President’s courage in pursuing difficult reforms, describing him as a determined leader committed to repositioning Nigeria despite early challenges.
Masari added that political leaders in the North-West remain supportive of the administration and plan to tour federal projects in the region to boost public awareness.
APC National Chairman, Prof. Yilwatda, also commended the administration’s infrastructural strides, attributing them to the impact of ongoing reforms.
The meeting featured goodwill messages from several dignitaries, including former Governor Okowa, former Senate President Anyim, and Governors Uba Sani and Oyebanji.
The President reiterated that his administration is driven by a vision of inclusive growth, youth empowerment, and national unity, assured Nigerians that the country remained on a path to progress.
