The Chairman of the Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) of the 10th National Assembly, Hon. Olamijuwonlo Àlao Akala, who represents Ogbomoso North, South and Orire Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Youth in Parliament Forum (YIPF) and Cawin Mobility Limited to provide free training for 2,000 Nigerian youths in electric vehicle (EV) maintenance, engineering, and repairs.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Akala described the initiative as a welcome development that would further expand Nigeria’s electric vehicle market and position Nigerian youths as experts in EV engineering and maintenance.
He emphasized that empowering young people with skills in this emerging sector would not only address unemployment but also strengthen Nigeria’s economy and enhance its competitiveness in the global green economy.
“This timely partnership will help us create a generation of innovators and job creators who will lead Nigeria into a more sustainable and technologically driven future,” he stated.
The Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) is a non-partisan platform within the National Assembly that brings together lawmakers under the age of 45. The Forum serves as a voice for young Nigerians in parliament, promoting youth-focused legislation, capacity building, political inclusion, and partnerships aimed at addressing unemployment and socio-economic challenges.
