2023 CENSUS: NIS pledges to partner NPC to Improve Data Integrity

The Acting Comptroller General of Immigration (CGI), Adepoju Carol Wura-Ola,has expressed the NIS’s commitment to support the NPC in its efforts to conduct a successful census.

CGI pledged that the NIS would provide the NPC with all the necessary data and assistance to ensure that the census is accurate and credible.

CGI gave this assurance when the Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Comptroller General of Immigration (CGI), Adepoju Carol Wura-Ola, at the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, August 10, 2023.

The visit was part of the NPC’s ongoing efforts to collaborate with data-generating agencies in the country to improve data integrity and credibility.

The NPC is currently preparing for the 2023 Population and Housing Census, and it is essential that the data collected is accurate and reliable.

During the visit, Kwarra and Wura-Ola further discussed ways in which the NPC and NIS can work together to ensure that the data collected during the census is accurate and up-to-date. They also discussed the possibility of sharing data between the two agencies.

Kwarra thanked Wura-Ola for the NIS’s support and expressed his confidence that the two agencies would be able to work together to achieve their common goal of improving data integrity and credibility in Nigeria.
