The Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), Mr. Shamsedeen Babatunde Ogunjimi, on Wednesday, 7th May 2025, paid a courtesy vis
it to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, at the Naval Headquarters (NHQ) in Abuja.
Speaking during the visit, Mr. Ogunjimi noted that his visit was to formally introduce himself to the Naval leadership and to further strengthen existing ties. He expressed satisfaction with the robust working relationship between his office, the Nigerian Navy (NN), and other arms of the Armed Forces. He lauded the Navy for its efficient and transparent management of financial resources despite fiscal constraints and pledged continued cooperation.
In his remarks, the Chief of the Naval Staff thanked the Accountant General for the visit and emphasized the Navy’s commitment to accountability and excellence. He acknowledged that while naval acquisitions are capital intensive, the Nigerian Navy remains committed to judicious use of available resources in pursuit of its constitutional responsibilities.
Both leaders agreed on the importance of synergy among government institutions in advancing national development and expressed optimism about Nigeria’s progress.
