Zambian President His Excellency Hakainde Hichilema and his Ugandan Counterpart, Yoweri Museveni are among the four Heads of State in Africa nominated for the 8th Pan African Peace Leadership Summit and Honors (PALESH) slated for August this year in Abuja, Nigeria. Others are their Excellencies President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya and President Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
President Hichilema has been nominated for the award honor as Humanitarian ICON of Peace for his pragmatic leadership and creation of peace and unity in Zambia following his victory in the August 2021 General Election. President Museveni, on the other hand has been nominated for his excellent leadership and outstanding role of ending apartheid in South Africa, ending of genocide in Rwanda and most significantly, for his performance in solving the Burundi Conflict, South Sudan, DRC, Central Africa Republic (CAR) , Chad and Somalia. He has been nominated for the award honor as Grand Commander of Peace (GCOP).
The annual event organized by Arise O Nigeria Centre for Leadership and Enterprise Development in collaboration with the International Peace and Governance Council (IPGC) has set the date in August to coincide with the commemoration of the United Nations World Humanitarian Day which falls on Sunday, 21st August, 2022 at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Asokoro, Abuja, Nigeria.
The International Honor and Awards event is aimed at recognizing personalities who have contributed positively in Peace Dialogues, Conflict Resolutions, grassroots community development, massive youth and women capacity building while uniting leaders who have strong passion for humanity and serving as catalysts of social change in Society.
The event will be held under the theme: The Role of Good Governance in Consolidating Peaceful Co-Existence in Africa
The Pan African Peace Leadership Summit and Honors is organized to build the capacity of African Leaders in strategic leadership, peace building, developing skills, and domesticating some negotiation designs for community peace building.
The Summit will be held in high esteem with the presence of reputable African Leaders including Heads of State, Top Government Executives, Diplomats, Top Military Personnel, Top Security Officials, Religious Leaders, International Organizations, Multinational Corporations, and Captains of Industries.
Other Prominent Leaders being considered for these prestigious honors include H. E. Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Auxillia C. Mnangagwa, First Lady and Wife of President, Republic of Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Joyce Banda, Former President of Malawi, S.E. Joseph Kabila, Former DRC President and IL. Chef Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, Prime Minister of Cameroon.
The rest are AIh. Bamanga Tukor (CON) to be honored as Commander of Peace (COP) and HRH Queen Mother Amb. Amina Temitope Ajayi aka Mama Diaspora who is Chairlady, SV-NED, USA who will be honored as Humanitarian ICON of Peace.
Nominations are still on-going and to nominate a personality for Leadership Excellence Award, Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Peace and Humanitarian Personality of the Year Award or Commander and Grand Commander of Peace Award send to [email protected] or [email protected]. The nomination requirements are; a picture of the nominee for upload on the Award website, a brief Profile of the nominee including charity or community development project done and lastly, the acceptance letter by the nominee.
This great event will also feature IPGC Pan African Diplomats Retreat and 5 days Executive Masterclass on Public Diplomacy and International Relations for all IPGC Diplomats. The course aims to develop the diplomatic skills of participants through an intensive curriculum in International Relations and Diplomacy. It will include an overview of the basic concepts and issues relevant to contemporary diplomacy, particularly from a developing world perspective.
Participants of this course will be presented with ‘Distinguished FELLOW Certificate of the African School of Diplomacy and International Relations Endorsed by African Union (AU-ECOSSOC NIGERIA) and also a Distinguished FELLOW Certificate of Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance, USA. Registration for this important event started on 1st March, 2022.
This 5-Day Event will be convened by His Excellency Amb. (Dr.) Jonathan Ojadah who is the Head of Mission, IPGC Africa and will be moderated by, among others, Hon. (Amb.) Tabetha Malinga, Secretary General (Africa), IPGC and Former Minister of State, Zimbabwe. The event will be held from 15th August 2022 to 21st August, 2022.
And Amb. (Dr.) Ojadah has disclosed that the IPGC Rwanda will hold its 6th Edition of the Pan African Peace Leadership and Investment Summit and Honors (Kigali 2022) from 23rd to 27th May, 2022 at Park Inn Radisson, Kigali, Rwanda. He said among the Featuring Institutional Honors would be Honorary Doctorate and Associate Professor Awards from Accredited European & American University as well as Distinguished FELLOW Award from Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance, USA.
Meanwhile, a new IPGC Centre For Diplomacy, Governance and Peace Studies, a capacity building center for global Leaders including youths and women has been established and shall be a prerequisite requirement for membership into the International Peace Governance Council (IPGC) for career and none career Diplomats, Amb. (Dr.) Ojadah has announced. He said the IPGC Centre For Diplomacy, Governance and Peace Studies was accredited by Highstome International University, California, USA.
