Senator Solomon Adeola has emerged as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 election in Ogun State.
The announcement was made on Monday by Governor Dapo Abiodun during a stakeholders’ meeting, marking a major political development ahead of the next electoral cycle.
Speaking after his endorsement, Adeola popularly known as Yayi expressed appreciation to party leaders and members for the confidence reposed in him. He also commended fellow aspirants for their sacrifices and called for unity within the party.
He pledged to build on the current administration’s achievements and further strengthen Ogun’s position as Nigeria’s industrial hub. According to him, the state remains central to the country’s economic growth and requires sustained vision and stability.
“I will not let you down. I promise to maintain the unity, peace, and progress recorded in Ogun State,” Adeola said, assuring stakeholders of continuity and inclusive governance.
The senator also emphasised the need to unite all factions within the APC, describing the party as “one big irreversible family” regardless of political differences.
Governor Abiodun, in his remarks, praised party leaders and stakeholders for their cooperation, noting that their unity made the consensus arrangement possible.
Adeola’s emergence is seen as a significant step in shaping the political landscape ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.
