The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a revised timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 General Elections, adjusted key dates for its internal primaries and related electoral processes.
The updated schedule, issued on Monday and signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, reflected changes in screening, appeals, primaries, and administrative procedures, including directives on the sale of nomination forms and designated bank accounts for payments.
According to the new timetable, the APC presidential primary will now hold on Saturday, 23 May 2026. Governorship primaries are scheduled for Thursday, 21 May, while State House of Assembly primaries will take place on Wednesday, 20 May. The Senate primary is fixed for Monday, 18 May, and the House of Representatives primary will hold on Friday, 15 May.
The party also maintained its nomination fees, with presidential aspirants required to pay ₦100 million and governorship aspirants ₦50 million. Senate aspirants will pay ₦20 million, House of Representatives ₦10 million, and State House of Assembly aspirants ₦6 million.
In a nod to inclusivity, the APC announced that female aspirants, youths, and persons with disabilities will pay only the Expression of Interest fee and 50% of the nomination fee for their respective offices.
The development was coming as political realignments begin to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, with opposition groups reportedly exploring coalition strategies to challenge the ruling party’s dominance.
